Bollywood Beats-the first post

Hello world. Welcome to the official blog of my feature titled, "Bollywood Beats." The story centers around Raj, a down-on-his-luck dancer who is fighting to hold his life together. After starting up a dance class, he finds new hope with his students but soon must choose between them and a chance of a lifetime. It is a charming story, that will become the next "Bend it Like Beckham," if I do everything right.

This blog will go through the pre-production stages up till the end of shooting, so I hope to be updating it.

Right now, I'm in the financing stage, which is probably the hardest part of making a movie. Raising the money for the movie is not gonna be easy, but I have a couple of leads and fortunately I have a lot of great people who believe in me.

I'm talking to two actresses well known in the Indian community for the role of Jyoti, the vivacious lady who steals the movie. They are both huge in their time and hopefully I will be able to seal the deal on signing one of them.

Recently I found out that their is a tax incentive clause for filmmakers (Section 181) which is going to be a god-send, because it allows anyone who invests in a movie to write off the entire cost as a tax deduction. So hopefully I will find some people who need a tax break... We'll see how that goes.
